The first commandment of Allah to wear hijab (lower gaze, guard private part and also cover themselves) is to the man then only to the woman. One of the reasons that it was first reveal to the man is because physically man are more strong compare to woman. To wear hijab is a way one obey Allah commands, and the other reasons is to protect themselves and also to gain respect from people. Take an analogy. First situation. There are two women which are A and B. A wear a tight clothes with short skirts while B covered all her body. If you were in that situation which one you will look at? Of course you end up looking at A due to attraction because men are attracted to women especially towards their body. It is natural for men attract to women and vice versa. By wearing hijab and cover all their body will prevent them from crime rape. Sahih International Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do. And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed. ( 24:30-31 ) Sahih International O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful. ( 33:59 ) Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him was founder of Islam? Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him was not the founder of Islam. Islam is there since the beginning of time during the time of Prophet Adam. Meaning of Islam is Submission, Peace, Sincerity and Obey to AlMighty God, the one and only God which is Allah. According to The Quran, everything in the universe, willingly or unwillingly has ultimately surrendered to God. Sahih International So is it other than the religion of Allah they desire, while to Him have submitted [all] those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned? ( 3:83 ) The Quran clearly states that Muhammad was a messenger and inspired just as the prophets before him:Sahih International Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms]. ( 4:163 ) Sahih International Say, “We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him.” ( 3:84 ) Sahih InternationalMuhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful. ( 3:144 ) Also, The Quran specifically mentions the term “muslim” for those before prophet Muhammad, including: Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Jacob, and the companions of Jesus. Thus, the prophet Muhammad was not the founder of islam/submission, but simply continued this universal message as one of many messengers of God. Sahih International Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. ( 2:128 ) Sahih International When his Lord said to him, “Submit”, he said “I have submitted [in Islam] to the Lord of the worlds.” ( 2:131 ) Sahih International But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, “Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allah ?” The disciples said,” We are supporters for Allah . We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]. ( 3:52 ) Sahih International Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah ]. And he was not of the polytheists. ( 3:67 ) Sahih International And [remember] when I inspired to the disciples, “Believe in Me and in My messenger Jesus.” They said, “We have believed, so bear witness that indeed we are Muslims [in submission to Allah ].” ( 5:111 ) Sahih International And if you turn away [from my advice] then no payment have I asked of you. My reward is only from Allah , and I have been commanded to be of the Muslims.” ( 10:72 )
